However, this move has sparked controversy as it goes against the traditional Church doctrine. Neither the Church’s founder, Rev SBJ Oshoffa, nor the late Rev AA Bada ever created an official position for their wives. The Church’s basic ordinances do not allow for the protocol of Pastor’s wives or the declaration of office for shepherd’s wives.
The impact of factionalization has granted pastors the freedom to act as they please, disregarding the Church’s position. This does not benefit us as a religious organization within the realm of Christianity. It is evident that the wives of other pastor within the Church are also exploiting this broken system to gain power for themselves. One pastor’s wife, in particular, has seized control of her husband’s office, allegedly taking possession of Anointment Cards, taking decision for her husband and even sitting at his right hand with her husband during meetings with church leaders. This behaviour is unacceptable and must be addressed immediately.
