It is an established fact that Celestial Church of Christ has constantly producted elites and wealthy Individuals. Such members have triumph in their various fields, the Church has senior officers the military and paramilitary, captain of industries, academicians etc. The significance of God in the Church is to have a structural framework for every Individual to experience the importance of God on earth and to fulfill God's mandate on earth.
The Pastor Founder created an apex decision organ of the Church, the Board of Trustees, section 145 to 155 of the Church Constitution highlighted the function, mandate and responsibilities of the BOT. From inception of the BOT, the Committee represent the symbolization of Celestial Church to the world. The appointment of Sup Evang Pius Olarewaju as the Treasurer of the BOT was never an advantage to the influence of Sup Evang Olarewaju; but an atmosphere for him to serve God in all ramification of his life.
A brief profile of Sup Evang Olarewaju explains God's grace over his family & business. Sup Evang Olarewaju is an Oil mogul, owning vessels for export and import of crude oil. He's also the rightful owner of Polak Group, a subsidiary Investment and Leasing Co, with branches in Nigeria and UK, Polak Property Ltd, Polak International Hotel Property and Pecuniary Insurance Brokers and P & P Technical Services. While Sup Evang Olarewaju is also the Executive Director of Vedic Lifecare Hospital, Victoria Island.
Sup. Evang Pius Olarewaju has incorporated his company since 1998 ever before his appointment as a member of the BOT. The fact remains that Sup. Evang Olarewaju does not need the Church capital to build his companies. Before the dispute between the registered BOT and the Pastor, Sup Evang Olarewaju the then Treasurer of the Board of Trustees and Director of Finance of CCC Worldwide, resigned as the treasurer of CCC worldwide on the 15th of July 2019, after He was accused of misappropriation of church funds by some group of Elders in the Church. The Pastor, Rev. Emmanuel Oshoffa on the 17th of July 2019 rejected his resignation letter and the Pastor promised to call a meeting with the accusers by last Friday in October 2019, after his foreign trip but the meeting did not hold. However, on the 4th of November 2019, Sup. Evang Pius Olarewaju tendered another letter of resignation to the office of the Pastor and He (Pius) also called for an urgent meeting with members of the MPIC in order for him to give account of the financial spending from July 2015 (when He started to directly oversee the church Pastoral and Harvest account) to October 2019.
However, in paragraph (3) of the first resignation letter of (Pius) dated 15th of July 2019, He wrote "He never omission the pastoral authority in any of his duty as treasurer of the church". Also, in another letter dated Nov 04, 2019, He made mention of (5) individuals; Question:- Are the individuals the same persons that accused him of misappropriation of Church funds or allegation of murder as being released by Celestial New Online. Also in the same letter, in paragraph (9), Sup Evang Pius said FOUR individuals were signatories to all the Church accounts, as against what we heard that He (Pius) is the only signatory to the church account. It took the involvement of former President Olusegun Obasanjo on the 24th of February 2021 to peacefully settle the dispute. Although, it never really resulted in any positive phenomenon between the parties.
After many controversies, His eminence Pastor Rev EMF Oshoffa acted on section 108 of the Church Constitution to announce the termination of appointment of the Board of Trustees in the Church. The month of March 2021 ushered a season of unfriendly month between the Pastor and the registered BOT.
The situation since March 2021 remain unsalvaged till dates, the situation has affected the evolution of the Church; some have taken advantage of the ugly drama to push themselves to corridor of authority in the Church. The Federal High Court Ikoyi under his Lordship Justice Peter Iifiu has been presiding, to ask for the interpretation of the CAMA Act law and the CAC Act on the role & function of Individual in a Board management.
Some members of PIC on the 21th of August 2021 decided to find a lasting solution to the dispute through the creation of a sub Committee headed by Justice Ajakaye (Rtd) as the chairperson. The Committee never made public her finding to the congregation of the Church. It is obvious that the Committee did not make any impact to address our Internal confrontation.
The situation has remaind the same, after the meeting held on the 9th of May 2022. We cannot continue to hide under the shower that everything is under perfect control in our Church. The development of Imeko & the Bascilia have been the same without any evolution. A school of taught has it that Sup Evang Olarewaju has the interest of the Pastor at heart and his love the Church unwaivering.
Sup Evang Olarewaju, must take the brave mindset to overlook all the embarrassment he had received from the church members. We cannot blame the Pastor nor condemn Sup Evang Olarewaju. The more we pretend as if the system is right; the more we will continue to strengthen poor administrative management.
