In order to realize this ambitious goal, Papa SBJ Oshoffa handpicked 13 individuals whom he ordained as Honorary Senior Evangelists. Their primary task was to kick-start the financial support for the Basilica project and ensure its completion within a specified timeframe.
Following the passing of the Pastor Founder, differing opinions arose among these individuals regarding the project’s objectives. As a result, the Basilica project was left abandoned for many years, receiving no attention. Fortunately, the last dissolved Board of Trustees revisited the project with renewed dedication. The Board recommended the formation of a Building Committee to Pastor Rev. EMF Oshoffa in order to revive Papa SBJ Oshoffa’s vision for the Celestial City in Imeko.
AVSE Ogunremi, a respected elder was appointed as the Chairman of the Basilica Project. He and members of his committee worked closely with the registered Board of Trustees for 1 year and 4 months to achieve the current place of worship in Imeko. Along the way, Professor Akinterinwa, the Secretary of the registered Board of Trustees has begun work on Celestial University in Imeko, submitting relevant documents to the National Universities Commission for assessment and approval.
Currently, Pastor Rev. EMF Oshoffa has parted ways with all the Elders who tirelessly worked to fulfill the dream of the founding Pastor. These Elders have completely stepped back from the Church management, while some individuals are requesting 50 million Naira for renting a Caterpillar instead of purchasing it for 25 million Naira took the center stage. It is evident that there has been no significant progress on the Basilica or the Celestial University since the Pastor decided to part ways with the forward-thinking individuals and align with those who are resistant to change.
The question arises: Will the Pastor allow the stagnation in infrastructure development and Church management to persist?
Below are some images from when the forward-thinking individuals were working to build a Basilica for worship for the Almighty God at Imeko.........
