There has been a recent development regarding the health condition of Evang Steven Pelamo, also known as Baba Bro Bro, a respected Gospel Musician in the history of the Celestial Church of Christ. He has been facing health challenges since 2016 and his family has been seeking financial assistance from Celestial Church members worldwide.
Baba Bro Bro joined the Church at CCC Makoko National Headquarters in Lagos in 1968. He has composed many popular songs that are currently sung in various parishes. Through divine revelation, he delivered hymns such as 261, 244, 278, 326, 332, 354, 530, and 526. In the past, Evang Pelemo was flown to the United States of America with the help of Celestial Church members to receive treatment.
However, due to the amputation of his leg and stroke, he is now unable to walk or talk. Recently, Pastor Gabriel announced on social media that he would organize an online fundraising campaign for Evang Pelemo. While many Celestial Church members were already aware of his health condition while some members had reduced their support to the family.
The family also acknowledged the assistance of the Church authority in their struggle to restore their father’s health. Unfortunately, Baba Bro Bro’s wife left him when she fell ill as a result of her husband’s health crisis. On July 18, 2023, Pastor Gabriel successfully raised 3.1 million Naira for Evang Pelemo’s treatment through his online foundation. This program caught the attention of the general public, who patiently expressed their willingness to assist Evang Pelemo with Celestial Church members also contributed to the fundraising. While Agbala Gabriel posted this morning (19th of July 2023) that the fundraising is at 6 Million Naira.
In response to a series of attacks on the leadership of the Church, led by Rev EMF Oshoffa, for allegedly abandoning Evang Steve Pelemo during his difficult time, the Church Spokesman issued a Press Statement at 6:30pm on July 18, 2023, right after Agbala Gabriel had finished his fundraising. The Church publicly stated that they had spent a total of 10 Million Naira Only (#10,000,000) on Evang Pelemo’s treatment.
Pastor Gabriel’s actions should serve as a wake-up call to the Church authority to establish a proper welfare system for those who have contributed significantly to the evolution of the Celestial Church of Christ. The authority should create a framework for assisting Evang Pelemo by providing monthly payments for his treatment directly from the Pastor’s Office to the hospital managing his health.
Similarly, the Church authority should arrange for medical attention for Senior Prophetess Maria Gbemisola Bada, the daughter of the late Pastor AA Bada. The Church should meet with her siblings to plan for her proper medical treatment, ensuring that outsiders do not have to take on the responsibility of caring for a 76-year-old Church.
Celestial Prerogative sincerely appreciate Pastor Gabriel’s unwavering concern for Evang Pelemo, as well as all the Church members who have assisted the less privileged within the Church.
More blessings sir
