Her grand father Chief Odubajo hails from lwade-Oke quarters of Okun-Owa village, Ogun state, while his wife hails from Ikangba village, near Ijebu-Ode, Ogun state.
Her own father Pa Jacob Odubajo, resided at Ita-Osu in Ijebu-Ode where he worked as traditional healer, married to Mrs. Subaina Odubajo, who hailed from Ijasi, Ijebu-Ode. She gave birth to two female children, firstly her elder sister, Mrs. Christiana Oluyemi Ogunmuyiwa in 1930, then in 1933 to Mama Alice Iyabo Bada.
Mama Alice Iyabo Ibijoke Bada attended Porogun Anglican School, Ita-Alapo Ijebu-Ode, for her elementary studies and Christ Church School, Porogun, Ijebu-Ode, where she finished her modern school education. In her school days, mama was a staunch member of the Nigerian Girl Guides Association.
Thereafter she was assisting her mother, popularly known as Mama Olose, who was into soap making business. She was helping her to sell the soaps before her eldest sister from another mother, Susana Arinola Odubajo, also known as Mama Teacher, a Prophetess in Celestial Church of Christ, relocated her to Lagos to stay with her.
While with her eldest sister in Lagos, she attended CCC, Makoko Village, Yaba - Lagos with her and instantaneously received the gift of prophecy in no distant time that she became a member. There also she met her soulmate, Asiwaju Alexander Abiodun Bada, who was then the Leader in Charge of the parish at Makoko and they got married thereafter in 1953.
As at then, in the early 50s, the Celestial Church of Christ could only be found at Makoko Village and Mama Alice Iyabo Bada was there early enough to assist her heartthrob propagating the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ in the Celestial Church of Christ and was very much instrumental to the growth of the church here in Nigeria, with the church in Makoko Village, been the very first instituted parish by the founder Papa S.B.J. Oshoffa, who was from Port-Novo in the then Republic of Dahomey.
The evangelism work together, took them around all over Nigeria and abroad as well, establishing parishes all over the world. She was a notable prophetess of repute in the church and through her so many inspirational hymns in C. C. C. were given, such as...

She was sameone who accomodates people so much, be it church members, families, friends, relatives and well-wishers. So many people people lived under her tutelage/guidance and she assisted them all appropriately.
She was very industrious, there was no point in time that the government setup any trade fairs that she won't secure a stand to sell things like foodstuffs, drinks and other groceries. That also reminds us of Festac 77 too, where she secured a notable stand at the festival.
She was one of first set of people that started merchandising spiritual materials in the church.
Her union with her husband was very much blessed by God but not without test of faith... Their first fruit who was described as look alike of an angel in human form, came and went back almost immediately. Her husband Asiwaju, who was officiating while the news baby's death got to him, was said to have simply replied that... "It could be that he forgot something important back home and he went back for it, he will be back soon." After this remark, he just continued with his officiating duties in the church, what a test of faith!
Truly in no distant time, Emmanuel came to them and couple of years thereafter, a set of twins followed but again they did not stay, six other children, three males and three females followed in succession without hindrances. They were ten children all together but in all, seven survived her, to the glory of God of Celestial, God of Papa Oshoffa - Halleluyah!
There were lots of challenges in their spiritual journey but with endurance, perseverance and lot of patience, they were victorius. The church began to expand for good, through this selfless efforts of this couple, Glory be to God.
Yes truly, mama Alice Iyabo Bada was an industrious woman, prudent, wise and understanding. She was a defender of the voiceless, though a strict disciplinarian, she was very compassionate, generous and kind. Classy, elegant and trustworthy, she was so much valued by all, young and old, she was a virtuous woman.
She lived a good life, a life of a righteous christian before death took her away in 1984 at the age of 51 years. May God continue to grant her eternal rest - Amen.
All Prophets and Prophetess of our great Church in particular, are cordially invited to honour Mama Alice Bada at this 40 years special service at Celestial Church of Christ, Bada Central Cathedral, 13/15 Cele Bada Church Street, Alowonle, Adigbe, Abeokuta on Thursday, 25/1/24 at 4pm prompt.
