It is evident that Celestial Church of Christ have a clarity in decision-making processes, as the Pastor Founder Rev Prophet SBJ Oshoffa allows for full-scale administrative operations through a written constitution.
The Pastor Founder approved Section 103 (i) (ii) (iii), which states that a worshipper seeking membership must:- Renounce membership in all secret cults, societies, fraternities, etc.- Renounce the worship of idols and fetish practices- Refrain from worshipping Satan and engaging in dark powers or magic.
The section clearly indicates the precautions for members who align with the Church. The provision states the Church’s position against having any attachments to fetish societies and isolates the Church from any stereotype narrative of worldly things.
Moving forward, any members who abuse the instructions of God for the Church can be expelled. In the mid-80s, the Pastor Founder, Rev. Prophet SBJ Oshoffa took decisive action to expel a senior clergy member; Baba Jesse, after a thorough investigation revealed his wrongdoing. Baba Jesse was expelled at a disciplinary committee meeting presided over by the Pastor Founder.
Also, Section 122 of the Church Constitution gives the Parochial Committee the fundamental right to make decisions on minor punishments for members who have failed to abide by the Church’s doctrinal practices after multiple corrections. However, the Parochial Committee does not have the authority to suspend or expel a member. To ensure a well-coordinated religious organization, the Church Constitution empowers the Pastor, in consultation with the Board of Trustees to suspend or expel a member from the Church.
A specific section of the Church Constitution, 169 & 170, addresses the church’s stance on disciplining all members, regardless of their status. The recent viral video featuring Prophetess Keji engaging in fetish activities despite holding the title of Prophetess in Celestial Church of Christ constitutes a clear violation of the Church’s laws.
It is important to note that the Shepherd of CCC Zion Cathedral Lekki Ajah, Lagos has taken a decisive actions to excuse Prophetess Keji for his Parish for her transgressions against the Church’s laws. Tactically, the Parish (CCC Zion Cathedral Parish) can't expel her from the general congregation of Celestial Church of Christ, but the Parish as the genuineness instinct to correct any negativity within the jurisdiction of their Parish premises.
However, the Pastor does have the right to take appropriate action in response to her actions. The Pastor may also choose to consult the Board of Trustees as outlined in sections 122 & 123, for guidance on how to proceed respectfully.
