For more than 76 years, the standard rule has been upheld without any issues. Since assuming the position of authority in 2002, Rev. EMF Oshoffa has also adhered to the Church’s basic ordinances, including the ITE service which held annually at the National Headquarters in Makoko, Lagos, Nigeria.
However, the recently concluded 2024 ITE service saw the Pastor noticeable absence throughout the day. Unlike previous services where the Pastor would make a physical appearance with his aides and lieutenants, this time his non-appearance was evident, leaving the procession within the guardian of the Shepherd VSE Kiki & VSE Kuti who also attended the service as a senior clergy.
The Secretary of the Parish made an announcement acknowledging the absence of the Pastor, but did not provide any explanation for his absence. VSE Kuti was the only individual observed assisting the Shepherd of CCC National Headquarters in person, VSE Kiki.
While, on Good Friday, the Pastor was present at the Mercyland of CCC National Headquarters for the 3pm service with all his aides, without any prior notification of his absence for the ITE SERVICE. According to the constitutional rights, the Pastor holds the sole responsibility to lead and oversee such activities.
As of the time of this report, the Pastor’s Office has not issued a Press Statement to clarify the reason for his absence from this significant service. It is anticipated that the Pastor will attend the Easter Sunday Service either at CCC National Headquarters in Makoko or at CCC International Headquarters in Ketu.
