Under the previous leadership, Pastor salaries were increased significantly and miscellaneous expenses for the Pastor’s residence were separated from the basic salary. This was done to ensure financial independence for the Church leader. In an effort to modernize leadership practices, the registered Board of Trustees upgraded the Pastor’s flight accommodations from Economy to Business Class.
The registered Board of Trustees (BOT) made a significant investment in purchasing an expensive car for the Pastor and his wife, as well as securing a rented apartment in an elite environment for the Pastor’s comfort. This package also grants the Pastor the authority to unilaterally increase his salary without facing any consequences from the registered BOT or the Pastor in Council.
Furthermore, the registered BOT obtained documents from the Ogun State Government for the ownership of km 53 Lagos Ibadan Expressway, originally purchased by the Late Rev AA Bada. Two members of the registered BOT took the initiative to establish a seminary school, but one member became uncomfortable with the Pastor’s actions. This led to a legal battle in the Federal High Court, Lagos where the dissatisfied member sought the removal of the Pastor. However, the remaining registered BOT swiftly obtained a Court Order preventing any forced removal of the Pastor.
Despite the discord within the Board, one member continued to support the construction of the seminary school using personal funds for the benefit of the Church. Unfortunately, an individual instigated conflict between the Board and the Pastor, leading to mistrust and misinformation. The Pastor, influenced by this individual allowed him unrestricted access to his home and acted on the misinformation without conducting proper investigations or seeking guidance from the Holy Spirit.
The Individual in question has acknowledged his past mistakes in providing misinformation and leading the Pastor astray. He has publicly criticized the current leadership under the Pastor’s management and has called for the reinstatement of the registered Board of Trustees.
On the other hand, the individual who knowingly deceived others and compromised transparency has recognized his role in causing discord within the Church. Despite this acknowledgment, he has failed to rectify the situation and promote unity. Meanwhile, those surrounding the Pastor continue to perpetuate a culture of division and ungodliness in a Church with a rich history spanning 76 years.
Prophet Soyemi who has distanced himself from recent developments has advised the Pastor to realign his beliefs with the Church’s original values. He has also actively participated in activities involving the registered Board of Trustees. However, the impasse created by these conflicting forces persists. Prophet Soyemi’s actions have caused a breakdown in communication and trust within the Church.
